MARINE GEOPHYSICS

Marine Geophysics describes a broad range of geophysical methods that are applied in marine environments or in lakes, canals, and rivers.  Applications include:

  • Mapping the top of rock beneath water-covered areas.

  • Assessing the dredgeability (hardness) for dredging in harbors and waterways.

  • Mapping faults and geologic structure.

  • Mapping geologic hazards.

  • Assessing geotechnical parameters for bridges and dams.
